All-New INDIAN SCOUT 2015 The new Scout takes things even further into the future for Indian, as it is the first liquid-cooled bike the house of Springfield builds and uses in a mass-production bike. The mill is an 1,133cc DOHC unit, capable of producing 100 horsepower, and mated to a 6-speed gearbox. With the Scout’s iconic image replicated in the new machine, the no-bling, no-frills architecture translates in a much lighter bike than the new Chiefs, and this makes the 2015 Scout a blast to ride. Indian claims unprecedented handling even through turns and better leaning angles than anything it ever built. The Scout was introduced in 1920, quickly becoming very popular among racers, stuntmen and land speed record chasers (remember Burt Monroe). We’re not sure whether Polaris and Indian thought about the Bonneville Salt Flats and riding the wall of death once more, but the bike looks like it could do well, with some modifications. Until we get to see this solo machine once more at fairs or in Bonneville, one thing is going to cause some unrest in Milwaukee, and this is its price. The base model 2015 Scout was introduced this weekend in Sturgis with a $11,000 (€8,195) price tag, making it both desirable and affordable. And this a killer combo for a best-seller.
